The Q: What support is available?
FASE is offering different types of support and training sessions via the EdTech Office. Are you looking for group training? One-on-one? We can do that!
Even though the winter semester is just ending, it's already time to start thinking about your Summer 2018, Fall 2018 and Winter 2019 courses. Summer 2018 courses are available in the Q right now, and Fall courses will be available soon (in the meantime, you can start building in your demo "sandbox" course shell).
What types of training are available?
1) FASE's Quercus Migration Group Session: These sessions with be led by ACT's Matt Clare. While he'll be there to answer questions, the intention of this session is to get hand's on - we're going to get you going on actually migrating your course. This session is not an overview of the Interface, but focuses specifically on archiving your Blackboard course. Bring your lap top! 2) One-on-One Training Session: If none of the above sessions work for you, then we'd be happy to schedule an individual session. We'll come to your office and make sure you're comfortable with the process. You can book a session by submitting this form.
3) Self-Guided Online Resources: Many of the group training sessions are recorded and shared. You can access these, as well as other online resources on your own time, at your own speed. Highly recommended would be Lynda.com's Canvas 2018 training series. As part of the U of T community, we have no charge access to these great training service. You can follow these instructions to set up your account.
4) Quercus Day: On May 11th, ACT will be hosting a Quercus Day at Robarts Library from 10am to 3pm. This day will feature drop in sessions that cover topics like getting started, using Quercus tools, and other topics of interest. A full agenda is coming soon!
5) Centre for Teaching Support and Innovation's Training Sessions: In addition to locally scheduled training sessions, ACT is also running support sessions at CTSI in Robarts Library. To view the schedule, and to register, visit ACT's Training website and select on Centre for Teaching Support and Innovation to expand the accordion with a list of sessions. NEW!! These sessions have now concluded but there are still local (to FASE) Course Building Sessions Upcoming that you can register for:
