New Quizzes Grade Passback Issue

New Quiz submissions were not correctly syncing to Speedgrader/Gradebook from October 30 to November 8. If your submission has encountered issues, please contact q.help@utoronto.ca to report them. Any new submissions or existing assessments should now sync correctly.

Upcoming Canvas Update

On December 19th, there will be an upcoming Canvas update (see the upcoming deployment notes).

New features include:

1. Gradebook - View Ungraded as 0

The View menu includes the View Ungraded as 0 option, which allows instructors to view student grades as if all ungraded assignments were worth zero points. This setting also persists for the Individual View Gradebook. This is a visual change only and does not effect any grades.

2. Rich Content Editor - Upload Media File Placement

When users record media or upload media using the Upload/Record Media link, the media file is stored in the Files folder for the media location (course or group). For students who record or upload media for an assignment submission, the media file is stored in the User Files folder. This change ensures users can reuse media uploaded or recorded as media content. Previously, newly recorded and uploaded media could not be repurposed without being exported as part of course content.

3. Pages - New Student View Functionality

The Student View button displays in supported individual Canvas pages. In the Home Page, the Student View button has been removed from the sidebar and replaced with the smaller button at the top of the page. This smaller icon will replace the larger button that was stacked on the right hand side of the page:

This icon will be added:
