Question of the Week
Each week we'll use this space to share a question (or more!) that we've received about Quercus and other Academic Toolbox tools.
This week's question is: "How can I de-cross-list the sections of my Quercus course?"
This Week's Faculty Question
Q:I was cross-listing (combining) all the tutorial (TUT) sections of my course into the main lecture (LEC) section, but I made a mistake and used one of the TUT sections as the parent course instead of the LEC section. I’d like to undo what I did and start over, but I don’t see an option for ‘uncombining’ the course sections. Can you help me with this?
A: Yes, of course! There is an option for de-cross-listing sections that have been cross-listed (ie., combined) in Quercus. However, at U of T, this is an administrative setting, meaning that instructors cannot access it. For the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering (FASE), this process will have be completed by the FASE Education Technology Office (ETO). Please contact the EdTech office via email at fase.edtech@utoronto.ca or select Get Help on our Enterprise Service Center page.
Notes
- Any de-cross-listing and cross-listing should be completed before students interact with the course (ideally before the course is published). The process will remove any student interactions, submissions, and activities that students may have completed in the course before it was cross-listed or de-cross-listed.
- If you are not affiliated with the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering (FASE), please contact your divisional support contact for assistance with cross-listing and de-cross-listing Quercus courses.
For additional information on cross-listing Quercus courses, please refer to our guide: How do I cross-list (combine) my courses?
For questions or assistance with cross-listing or other Quercus course settings and functions, please contact the EdTech Office or book a consultation.
