This Week's Faculty Question

Q: I want to create multiple versions of a midterm quiz to increase academic integrity. How can I assign each version to a specific group of students?

A: Quercus Quizzes cannot be assigned to groups, but they can be assigned to sections. To assign your quiz to a specific group of students, you will first need to create your groups of students using the Quercus group tool and then convert the groups to sections using the U of T Advanced Group Tool (UTAGT).

In our guide How can I assign multiple versions of a quiz to different groups of students? you’ll find the step-by-step instructions to:

  1. Create groups in Quercus
  2. Clone your groups into sections using the U of T Advanced Group Tool (UTAGT)
  3. Assign the specific sections to each version of your quiz.

If you need assistance setting up your quiz or if  you just want to ensure everything is configured correctly, you can also Book a 30-minute Assessment Review session with one of our instructional technologists to make sure.
