This week: Jupyter Hub, LAST CALL! Next Round of Quercus Projects, U of T Wireless Network

In this Weekly Update:

  1. LAST CALL! What do you want to see in the next round of Quercus Integrations?

  2. Interested in the future of U of T's Wireless Network?

  3. Are you using Jupyter Notebooks?

LAST CALL! What do you want to see in the next round of Quercus Integrations?

This is your last chance to voice your opinion on prioritites for the next round of Quercus integrations. Not sure and are looking for some ideas? You can review the (more than fifty!!) previously made suggestions. The idea here is to provide ACT with some information about what you want - don't let someone else make this decision for you.

Interested in the future of U of T's Wireless Network?

There is a call for participation to provide feedback about what would serve the community best. This is a chance for you to talk about where you see our wireless capabilities going in the future - what do you need in your classroom? What do you need to get your work done?

When: Tuesday, January 28th - 10 am - 12 pm
Where: Governing Council Chamber

This project is part of a tri-campus intiative. If you'd like to contact the project organizers, please contact:

>Douglas Carson, P.Eng | Senior Manager, Enterprise Networking

Are you using Jupyter Notebooks?

It can be difficult to get a sense of what tools are used across the U of T - if this is a tool that you use, and you'd like to see it become much easier to use - then you are encouraged to fill out the above webform and/or to contact the EdTech Office. We'd be happy to pass along your feedback.

Good afternoon,

We have been asked to investigate the feasibility of standing up a robust, enterprise instance of Jupyter Hub (multi-user instance of Jupyter lab notebooks) for use by anyone at the University, for both research and teaching.

If your department is interested in leveraging this kind of service, we would like to hear from you. In particular, we know that there are several departments who are already running their own, local, instances of Jupyter or Jupyter Hub, or another similar Electronic Lab Notebook system, and we would very much appreciate hearing from you.

Please take a moment to complete this short form so we can begin to collect some initial data and expressions of interest.

Regards,

Avi and Vinita
