Quercus Migration To Do List

Three important steps to make sure you're ready for Quercus! Let's cross everything off your checklist before August 17, 2018.

We're hitting the home stretch - it's almost time to say our final good bye to Blackboard. As we approach the end of August, there are some things you're going to want to check off your To Do List. You can complete these items in a few ways - attend a group session (online and in person - register for your preferred session below), use the online resources, or schedule a one-on-one training session.

1) Archive your Blackboard Courses

If you need to export your contents from Blackboard, this is the course for you! This introductory, two-hour workshop will provide instructors, teaching assistants and course administrators with essential information to how to decide which method of migration works best for their courses. After reflecting on current course structure, participants are guided, hands on, through their selected migration process. Workshop facilitators will highlight areas to think about before making your process decision.

Topics covered include:
  • selecting a method of migration,
  • archiving content from Blackboard/Portal,
  • importing content into Canvas/Quercus,
  • reviewing and modifying imported content,
  • and resetting the course back to the start.

Upcoming Sessions:

Quercus Migration Session #13: Tuesday, July 10, 2018 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Quercus Migration Session #14: Wednesday, July 25, 2018 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM

2) Build your Courses in Canvas

If you've already migrated, or if you don't have anything stored on Blackboard, this is the session for you! This introductory, two-hour workshop will provide instructors, teaching assistants and course administrators with essential information to begin building a Quercus course. Workshop facilitators will walk-through key features and tools through demos and hands-on activities, and share best practices on how to effectively use these tools when designing Quercus courses.

Topics covered include:
  • organizing a Quercus course,
  • enrolling course staff,
  • posting content,
  • sending announcements,
  • and communicating with students.
