This week's question is: "What apps or software can I use on my Mac computer to self-capture?"

Q: I would like to create an introduction video for my course that includes slide content and myself on camera. I have a Mac computer and it's been a while since I've done any sort of video self-capturing. I'm familiar with QuickTime, can I still use that? Are there other software and apps that are comparable?
A: There are a lot of options available for Mac users who are interested in screen and self-capture. You've mentioned one viable option already, QuickTime Player, which is listed in our comparison guide on video editing software. As a Mac user, you can also consider using iMovie, which is pre-installed on all new Mac devices and is also available for free on Apple's App Store. This is a useful app if you need more editing capabilities for the project such as adding a screen recording or keying out the green screen. If you use Keynote for your presentation slides, you can record your slideshow with a voice narration directly with Keynote. Apple's support site provide a guide on recording Keynote presentations on Mac.
