Module Overview
The focus of this module is on introducing the concepts of project planning and organization. Specifically, the different ways in which a project can be defined, procured, and contracted are examined. The pros and cons of each structure are analyzed, both from an owner and a service provider perspective.
Learning Outcomes
- Explain steps in project planning and their significance
- Describe work breakdown structures
- Define procurement strategies and identify their unique advantages
- Evaluate various contract agreement types (such as fixed price, unit price, guaranteed maximum price, and cost plus) from the perspective of owners and service providers
