In September 2016 the University of Toronto's MD Program launched a competency based curriculum (CBC) for the first two years of medical school.
 
For this presentation lead by Sam Chan, Director, Information Technology, we will detail on our experiences with developing and sourcing the tools that were used to support this new curriculum, and how we provide a rich and holistic view of student progress.

A very brief overview lead by Nadine Ibrahim, Post-Doctoral Fellow and Lecturer, Chibulu Luo, PhD Candidate, and Murray Metcalfe, Professor.  Where the challenges of higher education in Africa and some of our initial experiments, followed by a group activity to brainstorm solutions for the scalability of engineering education in Africa.

This session will focus on a combination of pedagogy, practice and purpose; we will share several instructor- and librarian-led case studies of active learning activities in two UTM pilot technology-enhanced active learning classrooms, and provide an overview of some of the supports in place to assist instructors, TAs, and students.

Arash Shahi, Postdoctoral Fellow & Dr. Brenda McCabe, Associate Professor, present the work they have done through eCampus Ontario on developing a number of online courses. 

Bring your laptop and existing powerpoint slides to this interactive workshop. Jeffrey Harris will practice making online video clips using free tools available to U of T instructors: Techsmith Relay, MyMedia, and YouTube. This workshop is designed for novice users who are interested in creating online content and would like some practical guidance on getting started.
