Tune into Teaching: Building and Managing Your Teaching Team

August 4 @ 1:10 pm - 2:30 pm

Facilitators:
Mike Kasprzak, Assistant Director, TATP/CTSI
Cristina D’Amico, Educational Developer, CTSI

This session is designed for instructors who are responsible for hiring, coordinating, training, and supporting Teaching Assistants (TAs) in U of T courses. We will explore practical strategies for working effectively with your teaching team throughout the term, including approaches to onboarding, communication, and ongoing support. Participants will learn about available TA training opportunities, as well as key responsibilities and priority areas outlined in the CUPE 3902 Collective Agreement (2024–2026). The session will also highlight ways to foster a sense of community within your teaching team and promote a cohesive learning experience for students. Ample time will be provided for questions and discussion, allowing participants to reflect on their own contexts and share experiences.
