Start Strong with your Quercus course this fall!
The Education Technology Office (ETO) is offering another round of Start Strong: Learning Together sessions to help FASE instructors and teaching teams get their Quercus courses ready for the Fall 2026 term.
These interactive, hands-on sessions complement the Start Strong self-paced modules and the Quercus Start-of-Term Checklist for Instructors, providing practical guidance on course organization, assessment, grading, and communication tools.
Session format
To provide more focused support and make it easier to fit the sessions into your schedule, all Learning Together sessions are 30 minutes long.
Sessions are offered both online via MS Teams and in person in the ETO Studio (BA 3116, Bahen Centre). Registration is required and each session is limited to 10 participants. Registration links are provided below.

Build and Organize Your Course
Learn how to import and customize the FASE Quercus course template, organize your course navigation, and create engaging, accessible course pages.
- In Person: Monday, August 24 (2:00–2:30 p.m.) and Tuesday, September 1 (2:00–2:30 p.m.) – select your preferred date from the calendar.
- Online: Tuesday, August 25 (10–10:30 a.m.) and Wednesday, September 2 (10–10:30 a.m.) – select your preferred date from the calendar.
Assess and Grade in Quercus
Choose the right Quercus tool for your online and in-person assessments, create Assignments, Quizzes, and Discussions, set up a weighted Gradebook, and streamline grading and feedback.
- In Person: Thursday, August 27 (2:00–2:30 p.m.)
- Online: Friday, August 28 (10–10:30 a.m.)
Assess and Grade in Crowdmark
Learn how to connect Crowdmark to your Quercus course, create online and in-person assessments, manage submissions, and use Crowdmark’s grading, annotation, and feedback tools efficiently.
- In Person: Wednesday, September 2 (2:00–2:30 p.m.)
- Online: Thursday, September 3 (10–10:30 a.m.)
Communicate with Your Students
Explore Quercus communication tools (Announcements, Calendar, Inbox, and Discussions), plus strategies for communicating with students using MS Teams and Piazza.
- In Person: Thursday, September 3 (2:00–2:30 p.m.)
- Online: Friday, September 4 (10–10:30 a.m.)
