As part of International LEGO Day, first-year engineering students were invited to take on a hands-on building challenge in the Engineering Library. The event, organized in collaboration with the Engineering Strategies & Practice team, the First Year Office, the Engineering & Computer Science Library, and the Education Technology Office, drew over 200 participants who were tasked with designing and constructing a LEGO contraption capable of staying intact while travelling down a zipline. The challenge was designed to encourage creative problem-solving and teamwork among students.
The ETO led a two-camera video production of the event, capturing b-roll footage of the challenge alongside interviews with key organizers exploring how LEGO-based activities cultivate collaboration and innovative thinking in a fun, low-stakes environment.
