Staring at a blank Quercus page? Having a hard time deciding what, if any, educational technology to integrate into your teaching? This online session will introduce participants to the Community of Inquiry (CoI) pedagogical framework, a research-based model used to guide the design of online learning environments. Through hands-on examples and discussions, participants will learn how Quercus features and tools can facilitate the three core CoI elements – social presence, cognitive presence, and teaching presence – to design meaningful and engaging learning experiences. We will also explore some of the educational technology tools supported at UTSC to help participants make informed choices about which tools will best support their teaching goals. Whether you want to learn more about Quercus specifically or about the wider theories and practices related to educational technology, this session is for you!
