June 12 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Virtual Event Virtual Event

Presenter: Jose Manuel Lopez Lujan, Manager, Servers, Storage and Virtualization, Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions, Information Technology Services

Description: Discover how the Model Context Protocol (MCP) is transforming AI integration across enterprise systems—and what it could mean for the University of Toronto. Building on IT@UofT 2025 “Embedding AI in the Workflow” presentation, this session explores MCP as a unifying, secure, and open standard now embraced by industry leaders like Microsoft, Google and OpenAI. Explore potential use cases at U of T, from streamlining IT operations in the ITS Private Cloud to simplifying student interactions with multiple systems. Together we’ll delve into how MCP may enable scalable, agentic AI that respects governance, improves user experience, and sets the foundation for a connected, intelligent campus.

Hosted by: Dr. Donna K. Kidwell, Chief Information Officer
