Quercus Updates

This week:  Bb Collaborate update, This Week's Faculty Question: I enabled a grading scheme (the UofT Undergraduate Grading Scale) for an assignment in my course so I can assign students letter grades instead of a numerical grade, but it seems that they are still seeing numbers. The worst part is that they are seeing the number that corresponds to the highest possible grade in the letter category I assigned to them in SpeedGrader! Is there a setting I can select so that they only see a letter grade until I’m ready to share the numerical grade? If that’s not possible, how can I at least make sure that they’re not assigned the highest possible grade in the category?

This week: Rubrics update, ePortfolios update, This Week's Faculty Question: I saw a memo (ACT memo regarding Collaborate Recordings) that on June 30, 2021, all recordings made before May 1, 2021 using Bb Collaborate will be deleted. Is this correct? If so, what can I do to download the recordings I want to keep? Can the EdTech office provide any help? 

This week: Discussions interface update, Crowdmark's new Sort Roster feature, This Week's Faculty Question: I want to release the Winter 2021 final exam grades and comments back to all the students in my course for viewing. But how do I do this on Quercus where the final exam was set up as a quiz? I tried to check the box related to "Let Students See Their Quiz Responses (Incorrect Questions Will Be Marked in Student Feedback)", but the system doesn't allow me to.

This week: Canvas Known Issue with New Quizzes [updated June 3rd], This Week's Faculty Question: I created a group set for an assignment and set it up so that students could self sign-up for their groups. I followed all the steps outlined on the Canvas Community Guide How do I create self sign-up groups in a group set?. However, my students can’t see the +Group button that would allow them to add/join groups on Quercus as described on the student guide How do I join a group as a student?. Do I need to create the groups myself?

This week: Canvas Release Notes, This Week's Faculty Question: I want to export my Quercus course so I can reuse the content in a new course next term. There are 2 areas in the course that have an Export Course Content button. Do they both do the same thing?

This week: Canvas Update, This Week's Faculty Question: My students have been emailing me saying that they can’t see the annotations when they download their submissions from SpeedGrader and open it in their browser.

This week: Rich Content Editor Pretty HTML View-Known Issue, EdTech's April Newsletter, This Week's Faculty Question: My students need to watch previous videos of the course in order to submit their assignments. They cannot find any video recordings that were made more than 30 days ago in BB Collaborate and neither can I. How can I access these recordings?

This week: BB Collaborate Update, This Week's Faculty Question: I want to create multiple versions of a midterm quiz to increase academic integrity. How can I assign each version to a specific group of students?
