Module Overview

In this module, you’ll learn how climate data produced by Earth System Models (ESM) is translated into information that’s useful for climate change impact assessment in a particular region or location.

  • Explain the concept of downscaling climate model data and why it is an important step in climate change impact assessment
  • Describe the two flavours of downscaling, statistical and dynamical downscaling, and the advantages and disadvantages of each
