Module Overview

In this module, the heat balance of the human body is first explored and then the requirements for human comfort, and specifically thermal comfort, are introduced in detail. This is followed by a discussion of climate characterization.  Finally, the impact that building energy use has on climate is presented.

  • Discuss the factors that influence human comfort
  • Describe how climates are typically characterized
  • Explain the relationship between buildings, energy and climate
